Experience
With a decade of teaching under my belt and an extensive education, you will be hard-pressed to find a more qualified tutor. I first earned my bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from Smith College, and then quickly moved on to earn a master's degree and a doctorate in English at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. In addition to my years of experience tutoring, I have been teaching writing at the University of Washington for numerous years. The classes that I teach are part of a master's-level biomedical regulatory affairs program. I am also part of a local program called Making Changes, and through this initiative I tutor high school students who are African immigrants to make sure they are able to successfully apply for various college programs. As a matter of fact, college application essays are my personal specialty. I can instruct my students on how to write essays on essentially any subject, although I have a wealth of knowledge pertaining to history, art, politics, and medicine. I encourage students to use their own creative ideas instead of forcing my own writing style upon them. I am a huge dog lover, and I also love to cook and travel around the world.
