Education

Senior, Human Development and Family Studies with a focus in child development and minor in Psychology at the University of Rhode Island

Experience

I am a senior at the University of Rhode Island, with a major in Human Development and Family Studies with a focus in child development and minor in Psychology. I've Aced all my english classes in high school and taken several for gen eds in college. Spanish is my first language I can read and write it and took three years of it in High School. I'm most comfortable working with children age 5-adolescents, hence it be my major in college. HOwever I can help with psychology (took 18 credits, six courses), GED and writing which are all basics for me. I want to be a tutor because I love helping children if not improve their work but boost their confidence as well. I want to give them the tools to learn and be able to use those tools in the long run. Also I'm looking to going to grad school for a teaching education and this can be great practice and a great experience. Although I've never tutored before I work as a teacher assistant for the Dr.Pat Feinstein Child Development center in Providence, where one of my roles is to guide and give children the tools to effectively learn and eventually learn some independence and autonomy.

Hobbies

I love to read, spend time with my nephews (especially experimenting and using activities I learned form the teachers I work with and use them at home with them, they always seem to love it!) , go biking and try new places to eat. Food is everything! I love the kids, traveling, the beach and making random road trips and dates with friends and families. I am part of an all girls multicultural organization at the University of RHode Island called Powerful Independent and Notoriously Knowledgeable (P.I.N.K) women. I was the community service chair for the 2011-2012 school year where I organized meetings and community service activities for a group of 60+ girls. such as fundraisers, walks, workshops etc. I'm a shy person but I like to force myself to go above and beyond me!
