A teacher and professional writer and editor, I tutor in reading comprehension and writing skills at the middle/high school and college level. I can assist with test taking skills, essay writing (including college application essays), and standardized test preparation (for example, SAT, ACT, and GRE tests). Also, I teach social sciences and humanities. From proper spelling and grammar to persuasive writing, I address any challenge at any level. Patient and personable, I am a diligent teacher and help students organize their thoughts and succeed in applying to college.I've led many writing classes, had top percentile SAT and GRE scores, and earned an International Baccalaureate diploma. During my time as an adjunct professor, I introduced college freshmen at New York's School of Visual Arts to writing and literature. I hold an MFA in Art Criticism and Writing from here. In addition, I earned the Paula Rhodes Memorial Award for Exceptional Achievement in this field. I previously obtained a B.A. in Comparative Literature from NYU and am pursuing a PhD in Modern Culture and Media at Brown University.In addition, I've written and edited for various cultural publications/ media outlets. When I can, I enjoy film, urban exploration, and visiting art galleries.
